Welcome to our COVID response page. Here you will find all the critical information about how P.S. 233 is changing the way we operate to reduce the risk of COVID infection. We are doing everything we can to make sure staff, students, and families are safe. Please check back regularly, as we will update the information here as conditions change.
The NYC DOE Covid Information page has important information and resources for you.

We have put safety procedures in place to keep our students and staff healthy.
Masks: All students, staff and visitors will be required to wear a mask while in the building with the exception of breakfast and lunch. Anyone without a mask will not be permitted in the school building. Please continue to have the discussions with your child about the importance of this and the idea that trading masks, playing with masks off the face or refusing to wear the mask is not allowed.
Hand washing: Students and staff are expected to wash hands thoroughly before and after eating, after using the bathroom, if exposed to body fluids (like saliva or a sneeze), and at other times necessary throughout the day.
Social Distancing: Social distancing is required at all times. Please maintain social distancing between families during drop-off and pickup. Parents are not allowed to enter the building.
Illness: Students and staff exhibiting signs of illness or having a fever of greater than 99.9°F must stay home and notify the school. If your K-5 child tests positive for Covid, it is required that they isolate for a minimum of 5 days and notify the school. 3K and Pre-K students must isolate for 10 days from a positive test.
Directions for local COVID testing: Visit the NYS Coronavirus Find a Test Site to find a test site near you.
