AP CameronLee holding award

Hello!

Dear PS 233 Family,

I am delighted to introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal at our school. My name is Una May CameronLee, and I bring with me over 25 years of experience in education, beginning in my home country of Jamaica and continuing through London, Ghana, and now the United States. Throughout my journey, I have taught grades two through six and served in roles such as literacy coach, overseas link coordinator, and Instructional Assistant Principal.

From my earliest days as a teacher, I have believed that education is the key to unlocking every child’s true potential. My goal is to support students and staff by recognizing individual strengths, building confidence, and creating an inclusive learning environment where everyone feels valued.

I am especially passionate about literacy—a passion that began with my own sixth-grade teacher, who showed me the power of reading. Today, I remain committed to ensuring that every student has equitable access to resources and opportunities across all subject areas.

Here at our school, I look forward to working alongside Principal Cunningham, our dedicated staff, and you—our families—to provide the highest standard of education. Together, we can inspire curiosity, encourage growth, and prepare our students to become thoughtful contributors to their communities.

I am truly excited to be part of this wonderful community and look forward to partnering with you in supporting the success of every child.

Warmly,

Una May CameronLee, Assistant Principal
